London Fashion Week 2018 Highlights:
what we love…
At Lola Rose, keeping our eyes peeled for new fashion trends and colour inspiration is key. We have pulled together our favourite highlights from London Fashion Week AW18/19 that you will see influences of throughout our upcoming collections.
From detailed embellishments and diverse pattern mixes to gothic-glamour and ice-cream palettes, it seems our next Autumn/Winter season will be all about going bold and making a statement with colour: our favourite thing to do!
Our top pick has to be the luxurious, heavy-embellished details showcased in both Toga’s and Mary Katrantzou’s collections. These rich materials are dense with embroidery and are a great example of how you can mix and match colour to create intriguing layers.
More beautiful embroidery from Mary Katrantzou: this time her use of heavily-textured fabrics appear more light and delicate when combined with water colour pastels and soft ruffle details. These dresses will be the perfect way to feel the sunshine on a cold winter’s day.
Splashing bold prints on light, silky fabrics are very much inspired by the 1960’s and 70’s in Emilio Pucci’s latest collection. Our favourite is the ballet-pink dress above, outlined with hints of print that create a unique colour combination and goddess-like silhouette.
It’s all about sophistication in Roksanda’s latest collection with satin slips, exaggerated pleats and gentle tailoring, showcased in buttery shades of vanilla with a combination of duck egg blue and classic navy.
Another favourite of ours is the ultra-feminine collection from Temperley London, which showcased dreamy cloudscapes printed on silk suits and more heavy-embellished sequinned dresses. We are totally obsessed with these colour combinations, especially the use of black details and accessories that break up the lightness and femininity of the designs.
Both Toga and Mulberry expose gentle tailoring at its finest. You can either keep it classic with matching neutrals or go bold with pink and red: the new colour combination that everyone is talking about.
And finally, we love how Erdem combines floral-femininity with Gothic-glamour. Pairing pretty pinks and bridal-whites with dramatic layers of black mesh and glitzy embellishments create a beautiful combination of romance and eccentricity.
