I hope you have all had a great start to February! I think it's safe to say that the worst of the cold weather is behind us, and isn't it so amazing to see the evening light beginning to stretch out a little bit longer?
I have been desperate to start a regular blog for you again, as I love the interaction that we have together. I felt that bringing my blog back would be a great way to regularly catch up with you all. So, this is my slightly late, but better than never… first blog of 2022.
A big focus for me this year is my own wellbeing in mind, body, and soul. So many of us find that the struggle is real when it comes to looking after ourselves or hunting down and enjoying that elusive period we refer to as ‘me time’. We are so busy and consumed with work pressures, or looking after those we love, that sometimes we forget to be kind to ourselves. I wanted to share with you some of the ways I am going to make sure I take the time out to look after myself this year, and I want to encourage you all to join along with me. Who knows, we might even do a group Nikki & Anna exercise class together… It does involve some concentration, have you ever tried to squat whilst drinking a glass of rose? 😊
In all seriousness though, over the last six months I have been working hard with a personal trainer early in the morning. Not only has this helped me gain strength that I never knew I had, but it has been wonderful for my mental health too. After training I am STARVING so instead of my usual reach for that early morning piece of chocolate, I have started to make the yummiest juice! It's on the sweet side, but it most definitely packs a punch. At the bottom of this blog, I will share with you the easy recipe and I can’t wait to hear whether you love it as much as I do.
When it comes to my mind, I have always loved the idea of meditation, but have never been able to quieten down my very busy head. One of my closest friends recently introduced me to the use of sound baths in meditation. The deep, resonating vibration of the Tibetan singing bowls is truly healing, and I find that it helps me relax and focus for the busy day ahead. Of course, meditation isn’t for everyone, but I promise finding a moment to quieten your mind, even for five minutes, can have such a positive effect on your day. Whether you are faced with a tough work situation, or need help making an important decision, take a moment, draw a deep breath and listen to your inner voice (or voices in my case). If any of you live in London I can’t recommend @soulfulhealingldn enough.
Of course, finding the perfect balance for my mind, body and soul is intrinsically linked to the jewellery I wear. I never meditate without wearing my lucky gemstones: magnesite (the meditation stone), agate (the communication stone), and quartzite (the stability stone) are the three gems I love to incorporate into my routine the most – they feel so soothing to the touch and really help to anchor and achieve a sense of security. The pieces below are some of my favourites from our new season which feature these magical stones.
So – let’s all make a pact this month to encourage each other to find time to take care of our minds and bodies – if the last two years have taught me anything, it is that fear and stress can sneak up on us from anywhere, and that it has never been more important to be kind to ourselves.
I would love to know your tips, tricks, and hacks for finding the perfect healthy balance in life and I will share as many of your stories as possible with our amazing Lola family.
Much Love, Nikki xx
PS… I am really, really keen to start running more competitions and chances for you guys to share your pictures, stories and recipes etc. So make sure you are following myself, Anna and the official Lola Rose accounts so you don’t miss out.
Sweet Green Juice Recipe

1 cup of pineapple
1 cup of mango
Coconut Water or Apple Juice
Blend until smooth (my boys love it too, so a great way to get kids eating spinach).
